Burnaby, May 11, 2026 – Today, the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund awarded grants to its first group of community-based organizations providing children with access to quality education and sports — and Canada SCORES is one of those grantees!

Thanks to FIFA, Global Citizen, and all of our supporters for helping us continue our work to inspire youth to lead healthy lives, be engaged students, and have the confidence and character to make a difference in the world.

“We are so honored to announce that we have been chosen to be 1 of 27 beneficiaries in the first cohort of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund — a grant given to community-based organizations providing access to quality education and sports to children in underserved communities,” said Nick Taylor, National Executive Director of Canada SCORES. “This is a full circle moment for us. Knowing that Canadian Julie Kennedy established The SCORES Network under the banner of DC SCORES - and was a receipient of funds from the 1994 FIFA World Cup Legacy Program, we are so very proud to be recognized for continuing the work over thirty years later!”
