Meet Our Staff

Kevin Yang
Executive Director
Kevin began his journey with Canada SCORES Vancouver as a volunteer in December 2013. He was a member of the voluntary development board, where he helped manage the organization’s website. After visiting the Canada SCORES’ kids on Day 1, he was immediately captivated by the program and started to volunteer as a soccer coach. His passion, dedication and commitment to the program only grew as he became more and more involved. One of his most memorable contributions to date was his involvement in helping organize Canada SCORES Vancouver’s inaugural corporate cup.

Sarah McCarthy
Program Coordinator
Sarah started as a Program Leader with Canada Scores in 2020 but their experience with leading youth in recreational settings began a decade before when they started coaching soccer with their local soccer club. Sarah has been playing soccer since they were 6 years old, and also refereed the game for 7 years. Aside from their passion for soccer, Sarah values the power of writing and empowerment through education. Sarah is a writer of both creative and academic works and has attained a Bachelor’s degree in Gender, Sexuality & Women’s Studies and Sociology, and a Social Justice Certificate. The nature of SCORES programming aligns perfectly with Sarah's passions and their drive to nurture communities allowing youth to grow and thrive.
