Honouring Our Friend, Past Board Director, and Lifelong Servant of the Community Through the Charlie Cuzzetto Legacy Fund

Vancouver, April 22, 2026 –

In February 2025, Charlie Cuzzetto officially joined the National Board of Canada SCORES to share his passion and years of experience across many segments of the soccer and wider sport community with our nonprofit youth development organization.

Charlie immediately took up the charge to review and refine existing governance documents, putting his mark on a new and enhanced set of terms and policies for our organization as we grow and move forward in the future. Charlie also served as Co-Chair of our Ad-Hoc World Cup Committee, applying his vast knowledge to the development of our strategy around leveraging the world’s biggest sporting event within the two regions of Canada where we operate and where 13 World Cup Matches will take place. Charlie’s fingerprints are also seen throughout the strategic plan that was developed and launched in September lf last year.

Several months ago, in October, Charlie had to step away from his role on our Board to focus on a personal challenge, his health. He did so with our full support and our concern.

Last week, as Charlie’s friends, family and colleagues joined together with him at the Italian Cultural Centre for a celebration of his life, Vice Chair Daniel Gumprich spoke at Charlie’s request, to introduce the establishment of a new fund to be managed by Canada SCORES – The Charlie Cuzzetto Legacy Fund.

We are so very grateful that Charlie has chosen to ask those close to him, those with whom he has worked, and served for so many years, to pay tribute to him and his many contributions and accomplishments by making a gift to The Charlie Cuzzetto Legacy Fund.
