On Saturday, August 29, the corporate community across the GTA came together at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre in Vaughan for a great day of soccer—and an even greater cause.

Canada SCORES was proud to host the 3rd Annual SCORES Cup Toronto Corporate Charity Soccer Tournament, presented by Bothwell Accurate, bringing together companies, colleagues, volunteers, sponsors, partners and friends for a full day of competition, camaraderie and community.

Nearly 300 people came together on and off the pitch to play, cheer, connect and help support Canada SCORES' free after-school programs for children and youth in the Greater Toronto Area.

And what a day it was.

Following a very busy player check-in process fueled by morning snacks courtesy of Quaker Canada and Chef Cos Catering, players gathered on the Stadium Pitch for opening remarks. National Executive Director, Nick Taylor provided a land acknowledgement as he welcomed new and returning teams to Ontario’s premiere soccer facility.

Taylor went on to provide some brief highlights of the very busy summer period, where Canada SCORES Poet-Athletes served as Official Player Escorts at the 2026 FIFA World Cup thanks to the generosity of Quaker Canada in partnership with Common Goal. Joining Taylor was Pepsi Co. representative Meghna Mehrotra, Sr. Marketing Manager – Quaker Breakfast. Meghna really got the day started by presenting a cheque to Canada SCORES for $55,000, from the Pepsi Foundation to fuel the delivery of our after-school programs in Ontario and BC.

From the opening whistle at 9:00 a.m., the energy around the tournament was unmistakable. Teams competed across recreational and intermediate divisions in a fast-paced 7v7 format, with every team guaranteed multiple games during round robin play, and the opportunity to battle their way into the playoffs.

But while the SCORES Cup is certainly a competition, it is also about much more than the final score.

Colleagues stepped away from their desks and onto the pitch, new connections were made, old rivalries were renewed, and teams embraced the opportunity to compete together while supporting a cause that reaches far beyond the soccer field.

That combination—teamwork, healthy competition, networking and community impact—is what makes the SCORES Cup unique. Powered by a community that believes in impact

The 2026 SCORES Cup was a tremendous success both on the field and as a fundraiser for Canada SCORES.

The enthusiastic participation of our corporate teams, combined with the generous support of sponsors, partners and supporters, made this year's tournament a strong financial success, helping Canada SCORES continue to provide free soccer, poetry and service-learning programs to children and youth in underserved communities.

Every contribution helps create more opportunities for young people to find their voice, develop confidence, build leadership skills and discover the power of teamwork and community.

That is the real measure of success for the SCORES Cup.

After a full day of competition, two teams emerged as this year's division champions.

Congratulations to both champions, as well as all of the finalists and playoff teams who competed throughout the day.

Winning the SCORES Cup is something to celebrate. With great thanks to our partners at Nothers The Award Store, who provide all the trophies and participant medals, we help teams do it in style! But every company that stepped onto the field this year helped Canada SCORES achieve something even more important: creating opportunities for young people through sport, creativity and community.

More than a tournament

Canada SCORES provides free after-school programsthat bring together three powerful tools for youth development: soccer, poetry and community service.

Through our Write-Play-Achieve approach, Poet-Athletes develop physical health and teamwork alongside literacy, self-expression, confidence, leadership and a commitment to their communities.

For many of the children we serve, these opportunities would not otherwise be available. That is why days like the SCORES Cup matter.

Soccer brings people together. Community creates possibility. And together, we can help young people find their voice and achieve their goals.

We are so grateful to the Pepsi Foundation for supporting the integration of a special Youth clinic and mini festival into the day!

Looking back—and looking ahead

The 2026 SCORES Cup Toronto was a tremendous reminder of what can happen when the corporate community comes together around a shared purpose.

Soccer brought us onto the same field. Competition brought out our best. And community gave the day its meaning.

As we look back on this year's tournament, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make it possible—and especially to those who continue to believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to discover their strengths, develop their voice and reach their full potential.
