Our Events
Canada SCORES hosts many events each year. Below is a sampling of the events we hold regularly. We also partner with numerous organizations to provide other unique opportunities to spread our message.
Red Carpet Poetry
This annual event celebrates our Poet-Athletes’ successes while raising awareness and much-needed funds to allow us to continue to provide our free after-school programming. This event features original performances by select Poet-Athletes, chosen based on their performances at their Community Poetry Slams and their overall commitment to our program.
SCORES Cup
Each year, we host a charity soccer tournament for over 300 players from corporate and independent teams looking to play soccer for a great cause, participate in valuable team-building and networking, and make a difference in their communities. All funds raised will support Canada SCORES' free after-school programming for vulnerable children.

Throughout the school year, we hold a wide range of events to celebrate the achievements of our Poet-Athletes. Please contact us at info@canadascores.org if you would like to attend one of these events.
Fall Frenzy
The perfect way to kick off the school year. Kids will be playing soccer, reconnecting with old friends, meeting new kids, and celebrating the start of our program.
Community Poetry Slam
It is the finale of our fall season and celebrates our Poet-Athletes’ hard work in the classroom. This event is typically hosted at a school site to facilitate the attendance of family and friends.
Spring Soccer Jamboree
This is our end-of-the-year spring celebration and is one event our Poet-Athletes look forward to! All teams participate in a soccer festival and have the chance to display the skills they have been training for all year.
Community Shout
In the spring, teams conduct community projects that will make a difference in their community. Our Shout event brings our teams together to share their community projects and to celebrate their successes.
Thanks to the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, each year, we take all of our Poet-Athletes to enjoy a WFC game!
